12/14/2010 8:42:06 PM - Veteran Lee Evans will miss the remaining three games of the season with an ankle injury, but the Bills decided not to replace him with a receiver on the active roster.
With Roscoe Parrish already on injured reserve, the team has just four healthy wideouts: young veteran Steve Johnson, a first-year starter, along with David Nelson, Donald Jones and Naaman Roosevelt, all rookies.
Buffalo usually has a complement of five wide receivers. The team's offense uses a lot of four-wide alignments, and coach Chan Gailey has said having just four active receivers would be spreading the position too thin.
Even so, when Evans was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, and tight end Shawn Nelson went on the non-football-injury list due to migraines, the team added offensive guard... (more...)
